0 Quick Apply 21 hours ago Full Job Description RN Unit Manager for Long-Term Care Unit Purpose of Your Job Position:
The primary purpose of your job position is to be responsible for the administration of the nursing program within the subacute and/or LTC/specialty unit in accordance with professional practice standards, center policies and procedures, Quality Assurance guidelines, Solaris HealthCare programs, and local, state, and federal regulations.
Job Functions:
General Responsibilities Residents Rights Safety and Sanitation Staff Development Support of Others Requirements Assesses, plans, and evaluates the effectiveness of nursing interactions with other departments and support services.
Participates in assessing, planning, and monitoring implementation and evaluation of each patient's interdisciplinary plan of care.
Participates in assessing, planning, and evaluating discharge planning and service coordination, as necessary.
Achieves and maintains knowledge and skills and educates staff in medical and/or rehabilitation areas such as:
IV therapeutics (pain management, cardiac support, TPN, oncology, central and peripheral IV access), complex respiratory care (oxygen therapy, nebulized breathing treatments, ABG interpretation, percussion and postural drainage) and rehabilitation (ADL retraining, bowel/bladder management, mobility, cognitive retraining).
Provides on call coverage for emergency situations.
Promotes good working relationships with community agencies and other center staff.
Interprets policies and objectives of nursing service to staff and others.
Participates in community health programs.
Participates in provision of necessary patient information for case management reports and evaluation against continued stay and discharge criteria.
Supports the interdisciplinary team model Reporting of Information Responsibilities Supervisory/People Management Responsibilities Administrative Responsibilities Special Activities/Attributes Education:
Currently licensed as RN (preferred) or LPN in state in good standing; Graduate of an accredited nursing school; Bachelor's degree in nursing, preferred.
CPR certified.
Experience:
In depth, medical/surgical skills and/or nursing rehabilitative skills and knowledge equivalent to three years of full-time acute care or rehabilitative nursing and/or CCRN, CRRN, CEN, CON, CRNI or C or at least two years of recent specialty unit experience, required; Prior nurse management experience and rehabilitation, critical care, rehabilitation or oncology competence, preferred.
