We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team.
As a Veterinary Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional care to our animal patients.
This position requires a strong knowledge of animal care and veterinary practices.
Duties:
- Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians with various procedures and treatments - Handle and restrain animals during examinations and procedures - Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian - Perform basic laboratory tests, such as blood work and urinalysis - Prepare surgical equipment and assist during surgeries - Clean and maintain examination rooms, surgical areas, and equipment - Provide post-operative care and monitor animals during recovery - Educate pet owners on proper animal care and treatment plans
Experience:
- Previous experience in animal care or veterinary settings is preferred - Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal physiology, and aseptic technique is required.
Skills:
- Strong passion for animal care and welfare - Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with pet owners and team members - Ability to handle animals with compassion, patience, and confidence - Attention to detail to accurately record medical information and follow instructions - Physical stamina to lift heavy animals or equipment when necessary We offer competitive pay based on experience.
